Lily/D/cross: mark of "balancier jure (de Lyon) Claude Marion" 1674 -1693, the verifier
The weight is made in Lyon, the XXI D VIII is the expression in deniers and grain of the French system.
I have a complete scale box in this way, with similar but different marks.
The verification marks on the front side should be Spanish, but not jet identified. |

| The star could be for Estella, the strange S A for Sanguesa, both in Navarra.
That we have never seen before, so identification is just an idea, but the shield of Estella is a star, and the shield of Sanguesa has the SA in it. Both is taken from marks of silversmiths, which where verifiers in many provinces of Spain.
The mark below is "SORA" a mark known from some papers we have in copy, but so far without further identification of the area. It was seen together with a mark from Castillia-Leon, what just makes things a litttle bit more complicated.
